Symbols Tattoos

Apparently, my grandmother was full blooded native american, and she and her mother were put onto a reservation after they walked there on the trail of tears. My dad told me that my grandmother had a tattoo of a number on her wrist that they gave to all the native americans who were put on the reservation. is there any way to research what that number was or more information about any of this?

what is needed is to find accurate and documented dates relating to your grandmother (birth/death, so forth). The Trail of Tears was in the 1830s, which would mean your grandmother was born prior to that time. I have never heard of any "tatoos" relating to Native Americans.

Dad’s info does not fit, unless your dad was born in the mid 1800s himself. Once you have correct dates, you will be able to see if there is even any possible way that this might have happened. She MIGHT have been Native.. I doubt very much that she was on the Trail.

I just want to know if getting a Tattoo hurts.

Sorry it’s not really my bicep. Its between my bicep and tricep lol. what ever that’s called that’s where I’m getting it.

I got my first tattoo 2 years ago. I was scared to death because everyone said it was going to hurt. Suprisingly it didn’t hurt that much. To me it felt like someone was scratching me over and over again in the same place. My tattoo is at the nape of my neck and it’s about 4inX4in. I can’t wait to get another so you should be fine. The worse thing about the experience is the wound care afterwards.

could anyone post images of what kind of koi fish tattoo could be done in about 10 hours. I’m basically getting a tattoo in another country but i can only have one sitting and the artist is willing to tattoo me for about 10 hours.

I can’t find any of those nylon tattoo sleeves, and don’t know where to look for some temporary tattoos.

Gift shops (beach curio shops), novelty shops, truck stops all sell pretty good temp tattoos.
If there is a shop that sells gothic or punk leather (spikes, etc.) near you, check there.

I am looking for meanings of colors and cuts made into feathers, or feathers of particular birds. I am choctaw and blackfoot and im getting ready to design a tattoo for my back, and wanted everything to have meaning. I want the feathers hanging in it to have a message. I can’t seem to find websites with any help! Maybe you can, any ideas?? Thanks a bunch!

As one member wrote, all tribes have different meanings but maybe I can give you a few pointers. I am Navajo, my husband is Chirachua Apache. The medicine wheel is red, yellow, white, and black. White is North or the path of wisdom, red is south and is the spirit, the earth. Yellow is east and represents the sun. Black is south and represents night or a look within yourself. Eagle feathers are used to send your prayers to the Creator. I don’t know anything about cuts in the feathers.
