Symbols Tattoos

For my 17 birthday, I’m going to get a tattoo. My grandpa recently died from cancer about two years ago and I really would like to get a colorful Koi Fish with the words Grandpa somewhere near it…
It’s a popular tattoo and I was curious if any of you have seen a nice drawn out one! I’ve been searching but for some reason I cannot find what I really want. Where should I get this tattoo and what design?

Unfortunately not.

We know we’ll be friends for a long time but we don’ want initials or to get anything "for" the other. We just want to get similar yet meaningful tattoos. We were thinking of getting the phrase "Lost but never alone" or "alone together" or some other variation somewhere. That’s nice but I think I’d rather have a small symbol. Maybe some symbol for loneliness and another for together matched together?
A lot of thought went into this and personally, I don’t think a tattoo is going to be my top concern when I’m old. We don’t plan on getting anything big, so it won’t look terribly disgusting if it ages bad either. The only way it’d end up being bigger than a post-it note is if it’s a line of text

As for the Chinese symbols, I was thinking that but I can’t get the idea out of my head that Japanese/Chinese symbols or words are overdone.

Don’t let anyone else’s opinion determine what you get put on your body for the rest of your life.

We can give you ideas, but the best thing to do in this situation is to discuss it with the friend who will be getting the tattoo as well.

Decide what is meaningful to both of you. Make a list of ideas, and discuss the pros and cons of each one.

Once you have a general idea of what you want, talk to a reputable tattoo artist about it. They’ll be able to help you out – it’s their job!

I want to get a tattoo in chinese letters but i need a website that i can get accurate symbols from.

As a heads up, they are called Characters and there is no alphabet….there are words only. When artists tattoo someone’s "name" on them – they are actually grouping characters together that sound somewhat like the name.

It would really all depend on the tattoo parlor.
Best would be to call into a few local ones with the picture and ask how much they would do it for.

there is no color i just have the outline of it im going back to shade it later

get some color in the koi its would look better, also add some peonys they look so good cuz they are japanese flowers so it would look awsome!
