Symbols Tattoos

I just got my first tattoo last Saturday, a black cross with silver inside on my upper left arm. I want to get a tribal band of some sort on my right arm but I was wondering how long I should/have to wait before getting more ink done? I definitely have the bug and wanted to get the second on sunday, but didn’t have the money yet.

I definately got the tatoo bug after I got my first tat. I waited a week before I got my second. I don’t think there are really rules or guidelines for this type of thing. Just as long as you can pay for it you can get another when ever you want!

I heard on the radio this morning that the Red Cross is desperate for blood donations and they are looking for type O especially and that’s what I am. I would love to donate, but will they allow me to if I have tattoos? I have three and I have gotten them all within the last year, the most recent one I got last month
No you can’t donate blood if you got a tattoo within a year. Heres what the deferred list says… Wait 12 months after a tattoo if the tattoo was applied in a state that does not regulate tattoo facilities. This requirement is related to concerns about hepatitis. Learn more about hepatitis and blood donation. Acceptable if the tattoo was applied by a state-regulated entity using sterile needles and ink that is not reused. Only a few states currently regulate tattoo facilities, so most donors with tattoos must wait 12 months after tattoo application before donating blood. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation. I know for sure if you got the tattoo in California they will not let you donate. Just check out which states they allow

I have three tattoos. A Celtic cross on my back, a butterfly on my ankle, and a scorpion on my foot. I’m planning on joining the Marines soon. Will my tattoos be a problem?

Only offensive and gang related tattoos are disqualifying. You should be ok. You will get a lot of shit from your fellow Marines about that butterfly though lol.

What is really going to matter is the artist that you choose. Be sure to go to someone that is skilled with shading. Also if you want color, make sure that you go to someone that is talented with blending. The links that I posted are really well done tats, but if you want something beautiful like them take your time in finding an artist that will do the koi justice! Good luck!

I was wondering because I have three- heaven, strength, and destiny. I got them in black but want something else to be done with them to make them stand out some more and not look so like they were stamped on or something. I was thinking about going with different shades of blue. I only have one tattoo with color and that is my cali one with a powder blue nautical star. Not sure what colors would go well with the meanings either. (I am white by the way, so the color white would not go well on me at all-others have mentioned such).

Heaven, a lighter colour, possibly a light shade of grey, might look good , and suit the meaning.
Strength, a bold colour would suit the meaning, bold and darker, or brighter.
Destiny, I would use the blue on this one, to suit the meaning.

Also, how much time is needed in between each session, and, in terms of effectiveness, with enough sesions of laser removal, does the tattoo completely go away/ disappear?

Black is the easiest color to fade. It costs about $100 per square inch per session, and can take up to 12 sessions to completely disappear. It might be more cost effective to cover it with an image you actually like.
