me and my best friend since grade 3 are both getting a chinese tattoo that means friendship. its not some immature friendship eaither…we’v never been in a fight…we finish eachothers sentences and everything its pretty cool and i think it will last forever. Shes 17 and im turning 17 pretty soon here..is this a good idea?

Ok my daughter just turned 18 and she wants a chinese symbol on her shoulder blade. I don’t have a problem with it but we are both stuck on which symbol she should get. We wanted something that looks nice and has a really nice meaning. Any ideas?
Tattoos aren’t a bad thing. But the tattoo she wants, in my opinion, it tacky.
Honestly, does she even speak a bit of Chinese? Is she interested in the language or the culture? Does she know that there is a meaning behind every stroke of the symbol?
Are you going to get it done by a tattoo artist that can do it accurately? I mean one misplaced, wrongly curved stroke can make the symbol mean something completely different and she leaves with a MESSED UP tattoo.
I find it very tacky when people get tattoos in languages they can’t speak, don’t understand or care nothing about except for it looks "cool" or "in".
Plus, she doesn’t know what she wants? How long has she been wanting this tattoo, for a day?
Talk her out of it. I have 4 tattoos myself and I planned them, debated over them and then I got them. They have meaning. The one she gets should have meaning to her.
I was wondering because I have three- heaven, strength, and destiny. I got them in black but want something else to be done with them to make them stand out some more and not look so like they were stamped on or something. I was thinking about going with different shades of blue. I only have one tattoo with color and that is my cali one with a powder blue nautical star. Not sure what colors would go well with the meanings either. (I am white by the way, so the color white would not go well on me at all-others have mentioned such).
Heaven, a lighter colour, possibly a light shade of grey, might look good , and suit the meaning.
Strength, a bold colour would suit the meaning, bold and darker, or brighter.
Destiny, I would use the blue on this one, to suit the meaning.
i had a dream that i had a chinese symbol tattoo on the front left side of my neck and it stood for lonley or loser somethin with an L and i hated it…Permanent!! lol

First of all, I think more or less you have some knowledge about tattoo. What I mean is that you may get one or have friends who have tattoo. Tattoo in dream may symbolize attention seeking. In other words, you want others to notice you and recognized you.
However, in your case, this Chinese symbol tattoo with the letter L whether it s lonely or loser is quite negative. In that sense, that added the evidence of big attention you are seeking from others because deep down in reality you may feel the need for others to notice you and support you more and that is why you had this dream vent out
