my brother is starting to tattoo for a living and i would like to design tattoos mostly tribal stuff on my computer for him. it would kill my time and save him a lot. any ideas?

The sexiest, most attractive tattoos are the ones that are unique and have some feeling behind them.
Random ink from strangers’ ideas online are meaningless and are a bit of a turn-off.
You would think that the internet would have a lot of information on tattoos. but every sight I find has bad designs and they charge to look at the whole collection. I dont want their art I just want ideas.
I didn’t look at tattoo artists portfolios, so I started looking at artists who worked on real canvas for ones I liked. A good tattoo artist can take a piece of art (or photograph) and interpret it into something that can be "inked" The beauty of this is that you will likely have the only one of its kind and not something out of flash or copy of someone elses idea, it will be unique to you.
So start doing google image searches for your favorite artist, or subject matter (as an example if you liked Lions search images "lion art").
Also look at art museum sites, find an artist you like and search by artist for his/her work.
Other search ideas like "graphic art" "commercial art" "block prints" "symbols" "icons"
Anyone know a site for good designs for tattoos? Im getting a tattoo and i already know where i want it and what i want it to be….. i want it on my upper back like in between my shoulders and it is going to be my last name and then beneath it the number 14…. but i am trying to find a website with good number and name designs and i cant find one, o and btw its a sports number so i might add a softball or basketball to it but idk…. and i dont want no girly stuff either
I think a good option is to look through websites that have free fonts to download. Then make your tattoo by just typing it out with a font/fonts you found. www.dafont.com is a good place, on there you can preview the font in all 26 letters and numbers 0-9 before you download.
I’ve been asked to sketch a tattoo for one of my friends. I’ve got a general idea of what I want to draw, but I didn’t want to go any further in my sketch if it’s not going to work at the tattoo parlor.
I’ve heard random things like, "don’t put too much detail into the artwork!" or "make sure there’s lots of space for the tattoo artist to color in"
Anyone have other pieces of advice? Thanks! 
Tattoo ink tends to expand slightly once it’s in the skin – if you have too many details or too many small spaces, the design may become blurry in those areas once it is put on in tattoo form.
If you have any experience with pointilism, that seems to be slightly akin to the experience you get when you tattoo, so you could try designing in that technique to get an idea of what will work and what won’t.
Other than that, I don’t have much input for you. As an amateur artist, myself, I have designed a half dozen or so tattoos for friends and family and have followed these guidelines, and in my opinion, all of them have turned out well.
Maybe you could take your tentative design to the artist doing the tattoo first, and ask if they have any changes to recommend before actually putting it on….

No when tattoo shops BUY flash/pre-designed tattoos from other people, how much do they pay for them?
they charge by time. so however big it is or complicated.. what ever has an influence over how long it will take… im from England and mine was £60 an hour. it doesn’t work out any cheeper getting flash tattoo’s so you should always go a bit more origional.

It depends on how big or small/detail etc that is in the tattoo you want. I asked about getting a tattoo designed in my local tattoo shop and they told me it was £20 plus whatever it was to get it done.
It varies a lot though, different tattooist charge different rates.
