pictures would also help, but I could google them myself too
what about oriental? is that similar?
Well, having over 20 tats myself, I’d honestly have to say the Asian Koi thing everybody is going for nowadays. I think it’s the most similar because of the elaborateness of the waves, coral, etc. It has more structure, a concept, a purpose. However, tats are meant to be original. You don’t want to be one of those people walking around with Tribal… cause 9 times out of 10, you know they got it in the late 90’s when it was cool. Don’t make your ink look dated. Come up with a concept and a good tattoo artist will take it from there. They don’t like to be given too much direction. Let them do their thing. That’s what they do for a living. Much like if you were a doctor, you wouldn’t like the patient under anesthesia telling you where to cut & snip. LOL Good Luck!!!
It may seem cheesy but it has meaning to me. I want a classic tattoo banner with 1967 written in it in the red to black faded ‘classic tat font’. I want to encorporate my two favorite things about that year into the tattoo: A lizard with a crown for Lizard King a.k.a. Jim Morrison, for it’s the year the Doors’ first album was released. Also, my car is a 1967 Camaro, and i love chevy, so as 67 is it’s first production year i want something to do with that.
So 1967 in a banner, with a lizard king and camaro. How would this work aesthetically?
I know the risks and dangers of tattooing and finding a good artist, as i already have one and my father has some. I just want to know about a design.
Thanks!
Also, this may be a little much, but since my favorite song on the album is ‘The End" and it was the beginning of the Camaro, maybe a phrase like ‘the end is the beginning’?
if that’s what you want any good ARTIST can do it.
if you can’t find any one i could probably help. i’m pretty busy right now, but i may have time to help out

Ok so i wana be a tattoo artost wen i get older and i have one question I can’t find an answer to. How old does someone have to be to attend a tattoo and piercing school? I really wana be a tattoo artist nd it would b awesome 2 attend the school. Oh, if you know of any schools in CO please let me know
If you want to be a real tattoo artist you need to first grab some graphite and a drawing book and start drawing, next grab some paint brushes and start painting. Finally when your 18+ and have some good work ethic go to shops and start getting tattoed, befriend your artist and try to get your foot in the door. There is such thing as a tattoo school Ive heard of but thats for fake arse poser biatches! DO NOT ATTEND A SCHOOL you will never be taken seriously in this industry. You have to get in somewhere and put your heart into it. Dont be lazy or cocky, plan on being the b*tch for a while and earn your respect. We just fired my fellow apprentice for getting an attitude and being lazy. Good luck friend…
to cover up with no lines to tell -tell would it be better to get a old school tattoo ( like sparrow or something) or I would like to get a cherry tree branch, but it is to small of a spot to do it justice. It is a rose I’m trying to cover up. It’s about 15 yrs old. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I want it to be as best it can. looking for real winning ideas.
go look for some thing you want. if i tell you what to get than youll probably get it covered up in another 15 years. any thing else just get it touched and enjoy it for another 15 years.
Planning to get a lightning bolt tattoo on my right wrist but am unsure about what colors to use? what are some old school colors I could use?
If by old school you mean traditional, then it’s usually lots of black and reds, blues, golds.
I’m looking to find a really good site that discusses different tattoo designs, older and newer, where they originated from, styles and artists – anyone got any ideas for good sites?

theyre not all great but there’s some ideas.
if you dont want the faces/skulls, you can either play around with them or if you dont draw take them into a studio and ask them to make it more custom for you, it doesnt cost anything.
good luck.
I want a tattoo that refelcts the glitz and glamour of hollywood in the 1930’s and the 1950’s. Would an old school tattoo reflect this if i kept away from ships and stayed closer to air hostess pin ups and dancers etc?
What about the girl dancin in the martini glass?
I plan to get it done as a half sleeve on my arm so any idea of what else could be added to this tattoo would be helpful
I am a big fan of old school tattoos, i am currently in the process of getting an old school back piece… i like your idea for the girl in the martini glass, pin up girls scream old school! with a polka dot bikini!!!! good luck
