My girlfriend is in the market to get herself a tattoo (which of course is not something done likely) and as not being from the Sydney area myself, I have no idea! Any places that are really good in the old school vintage style tattoos

Old school American Traditional tattoos uses 1/3 Black shading 1/3 of another basic color usually red, blue, or green and 1/3 skin tones.
Google Sailor Jerry or Ed Hardy for example.
New school tattoos are all the tattoos you see with crazy vibrant bright color and soft outlines.
Google Russ Abbott, Josh Woods, Joe Capobianco, Mike Devries.
I perfer new school tattoos just because I think they show more of artist capability and talent but like any tattoo enthusiast traditional is the heart that all of this came from and I have a lot of respect for sick ass traditional tattoos.

I love old school. Period. I wish more would do that.

So I’ve been checking out some ink online to get an idea of how I want me swallow birds to look for my tattooist to work with

mr weasel- cheers for the tip, but I’ve been going to my tattooist for awhile now. Totally have faith in his work.
I must state, I am not asking what tattoo I should get, I know already what I want. Im just intrested in peoples opinions on whether they like old or new school. As old school is making a huge come back, but new school is looking great as well

is it possible for a tattoo to have a mix of both "old" and "new" school style?

old school = look up sailor jerry or artist like jeff zuck(alot of harsh lines and dark (black) shadding)
new school= more color, lighter lines, mlore color and grey shadding rather than black look up and artist aaron cox

The Old school style is my favorite. Many tattoo artist should be able to handle this task. Have one draw you up a piece. Good luck.

You are looking for Sailor Jerry Collins. He is my favorite traditional artist. I have two tats based on his work. In the search engine look for "Sailor Jerry" There is tons of web sites. Great taste.
