I’ve been trying to design a tattoo that I want to get but cannot come up with good result. So I would like to know where I can find someone who can come up with a good result? Art store? College? Or what?

I want something like this http://www.persianartmusic.com/images/Festival/Fest_Fajr_83/20_Fajr_Fstvl_Poster.jpg

http://www.oweis.com/my-arabic-alphabet.jpghttp://morocco.cgu.edu/arabic-script.

If anyone know what this type of art/design is call, I would really appericate it. Thank you.

As a tattoo artist I don’t like tribal pieces, Most mean nothing and there is nothing it shows off as far as talent for the artist.
A tribal bird or silhouette is cool but just curves and points that don’t mean anything and just don’t do it for me. I have around 40 tattoo’s, Both legs knee to ankle full wraps but no tribal pieces.
Remember that a tattoo will last as long as you live……"Chose carefully grasshopper"

Not that I know of.
If you got it done with dirty needles then yes but if everything was clean then no.

I have been searching for a while, through all the big sites (Tattoojohnny, tattoofinder etc) but I can not seem to find a design which is right for me, I am not very good at art so I was wondering if anyone knew a decent place to find tattoo’s which meet my critera?

Tribal tattoos are over done and so last year.

Like a simple tribal art, for example a tattoo like Brad Pitt’s in Ocean’s Eleven.

it depends.

i know a few people who have hand tattoos and they look awesome but it also goes with their sleeves. some people can pull it off and make it look great and some can’t.

i never really saw any bad hand ink. i guess it depends how good your artist is too.

im joing the airforce i was wanting to get a tattoo its a half sleeve of tribal art. i was looking at the policy on tattoos and saw this (Excessive is defined as any tattoo/brands that exceed ¼ of the exposed body part) what does that mean??

The tattoo cannot exceed more than 1/4 the surface area of your arm. So say you want your tribal thing, if it goes halfway down your arm, and is half inked, and half bare skin….then that’s your 1/4 for that arm. You will not be able to wear the short sleeve blue shirt, you’ll have to wear the long with a tie. Your tattoo can show in PT gear, and if you’re in a job that wears say ABU pants, but not the blouse (just the undershirt) it can show as well.

Hi. I’m a 16 year old girl, and for the past couple of years i’ve been interested in tattoos and piercings. I know I’m too young to get one right now but once I’m old enough I would like to get some. I’ve even come up with some of my ow ideas for tattoos, I drew this one myself:

http://narutouchiha07.deviantart.com/art/Christ-Bled-and-Jesus-Wept-134357317

I’m mostly interested in Tribal, Aztec, spiritual, religous tattoos such as these and many more:

http://www.tattoojohnny.com/search.asp?k=Tribal&a=&c=bw,color&s=small,medium,large&x=adult&m=&r=60
http://www.tattoojohnny.com/search.asp?k=tiger&a=&c=bw,color&s=small,medium,large&x=adult&m=&r=60

And, for quite a while, I’ve REALLY been intrigued by the yin-yang tattoos especially this one from the anime Shaman King :

And in the piercing section…well later on this year I’m going to get the top part of my ear pierced… but when I’m old enough (and out of my mother’s house) I would like to get my eyebrow(s), tongue, navel and tongue pierced…and possibly even nipples if i decide.

When I tell my friends and family about these ideas they think i’m freaky or something. But I just find tattooos and piercings so interesting because they’re beautiful pieces of art that describe what a person feels or see’s.

What does it feeel like to get a tat or piercing? Why did you get them? Do you regret it? Why do you like them? Any comment would help alot . thanks.
Sorry, but i forgot to space out the url address’s at the top. Each begin’s with http://

Firstly, I’d like to say I really like your design for a tattoo- it’s very well drawn out, and a neat idea :] I do think you could re- work the banner a little bit to make it more flowing, and maybe with a tail to it, as most banners have (just some constructive critiscm, i do really like the idea and drawing though!)

Moving on, people will ALWAYS have different opinions to you, on pretty much everything. A lot of people seem to find piercings and tattoos hard to accept, and, whilst it is becoming more mainstream, you’ll still expect people treating you like a freak, or staring. It’s weird because these things are becoming so popular, but i do get a lot of strange funny looks- but i do get compliments as well, so it’s not all bad! Plus, i LIKE how my piercings and tattoos look, and they make me happy.

To get a tattoo- well I’ve had two, on my outer wrists. The feeling was really nice. I know that sounds weird. I guess it feels like a scrape or a bee sting- its really warm. After awhile the area goes numb, and although you feel it, i didnt find it overly painful- i very much enjoyed it, and found the process to be relaxing. Maybe thats weird but yeah, thats me :p

To get piercings- well the pain varies. I DO NOT like the pain of piercings. Some barely hurt- like lip piercings…but others hurt like hell- like my industrial. The industrial was awful pain :/

But i get both things because I LOVE THEM. I’m addicted. I just find it all so interesting. Aesthetically, i love the way tattoo’s and piercings look, i think they are artful and creative. I love the processes (although it can be painful) its exciting, you get such an adrenaline rush. I love the smell of a clean studio, the whole excitement you get before its done- the anticipation, i love it all. And i love the way my piercings look- how they feel. I just love piercings and tattoos…everything about them- the way the body heals them- its so interesting. For me its like a life style, i am so passionate about them.

I regret nothing i have gotten. I have retired a few piercings (but these were DIY, and they didn’t work out long term, so I removed them) but have never regretted getting them or anything.

My current mods-
Septum (my fave)
Snakebites- x2 lip piercings.
Venoms- x2 tongue piercings.
Industrial
Tragus
x2 cartilage piercings.
x5 lobe piercings.
x1 4mm lobe stretch (its staying at 4mm, i just love the jewellery)
x1 14mm lobe stretch

Thats sixteen piercings i wear all of them

. Ive retired:

Tragus (right side)
Cartilage
Finger surface
x3 nostril piercings

My tattoos;
A red star on my right outter wrist. (i got this when i turned 18. and although so many people have stars, i like the design- and i wanted something simple to ease me into tattooing. I wanted a universal design that i would not hate in the future)
A green star on my left outter wrist. (i got this a year later to match the red star. Mainly because when i looked at my left wrist, i felt bugged because it wasnt symmetrical. it annoyed me all the time. I wanted it to match, but be a little different, so i got it in green- my fave color)

i have plans for lots more tattoos. Some have deep meanings, others i want for aesthetic purposes..but theres a few i want. I also want more piercings.

I think you should go ahead and get whatever you want done, regardless of what people tell you. You need to MAKE yourself happy. And these things, whilst not beautiful to everyone- they are beautiful to many. I also find them great conversation starters and when i look at them im reminded of all sorts of stories and days and periods of my life. In particular i love my little green star tattoo because of the story behind it- the day I got it, and i will always remember that day : ]

Does anyone know where to find some good pictures of tribal art or vines for a tattoo? Or have any cool drawings?

I’m putting together my ideal Filipino tribal tattoo and I need help with some symbolism. So far I am getting the Filipino sun on my shoulder with the middle of it starting right on the tip top of my shoulder and the 8 rays going out. I want those curly tribal designs to go down my arm but I don’t know what they mean and I don’t have any other symbols. If you could tell me what various animals, plants, designs etc symbolize that would be great. I am very into the martial arts and surfing and I am a strong Christain. My grandparents are from the Cebu area. Any suggestions/interpretations of symbols? Thnx

alibata is always good to add to your piece. i am definitely going to get the last name of my moms side and dads side in alibata. my cousin was mentioning something about getting the Phillipine eagle on his back. i personally dont know what it looks like, but he had a good idea. the Phillipine sun is always a good thing to do, but from all the ones that i have seen, they look like they could have been better. they looked kinda cartoony. you should google "phillipine symbolism" or something along those lines. i would do it right now, but im at work. good luck

Right now I am about 285 I am just not starting to workout..I hope to lose weight this year but this is my fear….I have this tribal art tattoo on my arm and I plan on getting more tattoos throughout this year..Will my tattoo stay okay throughout me losing weight or is it going to mess up??

The Tattoo will be fine. The skin it’s on may become flabby and distort it though.

For those with their body covered in tattoos and those earrings that stretch out the ear to make a huge hole in the ear lobe, though I think it looks totally rediculous, I understand your right to express yourself.
While it may look cool on you while you are young and don’t have much responsibility and while your "look" may be acceptable while working in that music store, auto shop or factory, what are you going to do when your tattoos and ears with the big holes in them aren’t acceptable when you have to find other jobs.
Do you also think how you are going to look when you are in your 40’s, 50’s 70’s and older? You are going to be an old guy or woman with wrinkled dragons, skulls, snakes, tribal art and all those other tattoos on your body and big holes in your ear lobes.
Think how you would laugh at an old person today if you saw them like that. Well….that’ll be you.

Well, for me my body art is something I take really serious and into deep consideration. I know that I think about the future whenever I’m stretching my lobes or getting another tattoo, but the fact is, it’s my body. If I turn out some old wrinkly hag with horrible tattoos and big floppy earlobes then that’s my deal. I know I’ll still find my art beautiful because that’s what I got it for. Oh yeah,

just to let you know, I know many "older" people who still do these "ridiculous" things and they look so good.

And, working as a hairstylist/makeup artist (or any other job), your work (including your body mods) are what makes you, you. It makes people say, "hey I bet she’s awesome at something, c’mon. She’s cool." lol
