I have designed a Tattoo that means a lot to me – it has a picture of a mother fairy holding a baby fairy and beside that in Kanji are 6 charecters that mean My Angel Tai Lee (my daughters name) the name is Chinese – we are not but I thought this might help with any answers (hence the Kanji charecters) I already have an arm band on the right arm and ankle band on the right ankle.. my more conservative sister has suggested the shoulder blade (I like this but then Id never see it) hubby thinks it should go either over my heart or on my left arm – I know the design is right for me (It took me a little while to design it) but Im booked in to have it done tomorrow and Im still not settled on a location.. I have looked through heaps of galleries even tried my parents but they just said hmmmm cant tell you that one (Im the black sheep of the family they just love me and accept me what ever I do LOL) it measures about 15cm x 15cm in size – OH I dont have a good tummy for it (had a c-section)
A couple of inches below your neck, on your back between your two shoulder blades. And just a suggestion, as someone who can read a bit of kanji, please make sure with someone who is well read in kanji to check your characters, because as you may already be aware, each kanji character can have several meanings and sounds, and so you may have a combination that says something strange, other than "My Angel Tai Lee". I have seen some people with really strange kanji tatoos. Good luck, hope it goes well!
I have my design but not sure where to place a tattoo…?

I’d go with either your chest or the back of one of your arms.

i would say just above your breast on your heart side- it means something then instead of being just dumped on another part of your body.

why not place it on your lower back, either in the middle or one of the sides?

Have you ever thought about the idea of saving the money you would be putting toward a tattoo toward your child?
I have a nephew, (32 years old) and his wife that have put out too much money on tattoo’s since their 7 month old baby was born. Tattoo’s are not cheap! They did not get the pictures of him when he was born because they could not afford it. They have yet to have any pictures made of him. I took him myself along with his Great Grandmother yesterday to have his 6 month pictures made. It was an awesome experience and the pictures a precious! Mom and Dad missed out on it because they don’t have their priorities straight.
It is not going to get any cheaper as far as education, economy is concerned. Think about your future and the child’s future before you put out money on something material that will have no benefit whatsoever to your child in the future.
Think about it.

Shave all of your hair from your head.
put it right in the middle of your balded head, then you will be able to see it in the mirror.
and while you are at it, get a big beef leg bone and wear it through your nose.
You might scare the baby, God forbid, but you will be a real work of art.
Have a full page photo put into your local newspaper.

The shoulder blade idea is nice. Maybe on the front of your hip? Over your heart is good- up a little towards your shoulder.

I would Place it on your heat or on your back where every body can see it that and thats where every body is putting their tattos it all depends where you think you would feel more comfortable puting it and where you think it will hurt less to you

Heck, you’ve gone to all the work to design it, put it where it can be seen! Put it on your upper arm and wear it like a banner!! I think it is lovely that you designed it yourself and it will mean everything to you. Go for it!
