I was original going for the a small butterfly tattoo, but then I came across this which is a lot bigger and more detail design. The significance of the tattoo is closer from the death of my mom who I never really knew. She died when I was only four months old from a drug overdose. I wrote a poem the other day on butterflies in memory of my mom. The poem was relating to how people are like butterflies, that life is our temporary home, and heaven is home. The butterfly tattoo symbols rebirth and transformation, which is I feel my mom earned her wings when she passed away. As silly as it sounds, it’s something I’m passionate about. Her favorite color was purple and she even had a butterfly tattoo on her foot.
Here is the link to the design I found: http://www.purplemoon.com/Stickers/fairy-butterflies-purple.jpg
I just think she is worth the pain of a tattoo, and this design I found really relates to my poem.
I don’t know, any advice?
if its that important to you, then you should do it but you still have to think about how its going to affect your over all. is the money used on the tatoo needed for something more dire? are you sure you’ll want a permenant banner on your body forever – you could get it removed but thats crazy money. is your family ok with because you dont want to do somethign for your mom and cause a rift with another family member. its very nice to write a poem about your mother but getting a tatoo is serious. the pic is beatiful if you have enough money, your family is ok with it and your sure you could live with it then go ahed. but also think about where it will be and how big, its beatiful but make it too big and you got something big and annoying to look at and and put it on the wrong body part and it could come off as slezy and trashy. w/e your choice take some time you sound like a 17 or 18yr old so you got time to think, its not like your going to die if you dont have it in 1 minute

If it means a lot to you then definitely go for it! My only advice is that I think with that much detail the tattoo would have to be pretty big or you might have to take out some of the surrounding butterflies. Go and talk to a tattoo artisit, if you like it then get it.

Honestly, pain is temporary. I sat through a 5 hour session yesterday and man it was soo painful, but I lived and I am so excited to finish it. Go for it if it means that much to you.

i thnk you should go for it. but maybe just the butterflies, maybe do a swarm of them going from your foot curving up your ankle. the ferry you might regret later. the best thing to do is go talk to a tattoo artist that is willing to help draw one up not just take it off the internet. Good Luck with it all!
