I want to get a small tinkerbell on my left shoulder blade would it look tacky? I plan on getting her like when she’s using her wand with a traditional 8point peter pan star in one colour and some ‘fairy dust’ design coming from it. I’m thinking between 2 fingers by 2 fingers or 3 fingers by 3 fingers at the very most for size would this be too big? It would be easy enough to cover if necessary and has alot of meaning to me.
Please no don’t get a tattoo I already have one and nothing you say will change my opinion of them.
I know I want this tattoo I was asking an opinion on how I want to design it the size and place. If it’d look better somewhere else I’d get it there in example. And I did mean with clothes not as in a cover up tattoo. I’ve wanted this tattoo for 4 years now I wouldn’t get a carttoon without hard thinking ahead of time.
When I was about 19 (I’m 27 now) I got a very similar Tinkerbelle tattoo spanning my from mid spine down to my lower back(about 2 or 3 inches above my bottom). Mine is all black & grey. For me it was a statement of believing in things you can not see & to always remain young at heart. (I’m sorry I do not have any photos.) A few years later, I added the Italian phrase "Vita Bella" underneath which means "Life is beautiful". You have no idea how much I regret that tattoo & I can not wait until the day when I can have it removed.(It is much too large to cover up with anything I want tattooed on me in the future) While it is well done, it just doesn’t suit the person I have become anymore. You run that risk with any tattoo, so I am glad that you have made the choice to go very small & to have it put in an inconspicuous place. Another reason I dislike my tattoo now is that at the time fairies weren’t yet as insanely popular as they are now. But shortly after I got my tattoo, Britney Spears coincidentally got a smaller fairy on her lower back & next thing you know every teeny bopper out there had one. Then of course, about a year or two ago, Lindsay Lohan got "Vita Bella" branded on her & viola…I look like a walking advertisement for young troubled starlets.
My advice to you is to think long & hard about this which it sounds like you have. Again I think you have been very smart in your size & placement choices & I see nothing tacky about it at all. As long as it means something to you, then that is all that matters. But remember in a few years you may not be as fond of the idea as you are now, so I commend you on taking that into account as far as your statement of cover-ups.
Good luck & enjoy your new ink!

Do what you want. Don’t do what other people think you should do. But let me say this, if you are already thinking it would easy to cover then maybe you should re-think. When I get a tat I think about if I’ll still like it in 30 years not if I can cover it. Make sure you really want it because nothing is that easy to cover.

i think she means it would be easy to cover up with clothes…like for a job interview or something. At least thats what i took from it.
I think its a cute idea. And if it has meaning then more or a reason to do it.

I think it would be cute. I love Tinkerbell! The size sounds good too. I think that you should put whatever it is that makes you happy on your body! Tattoos are a good way to express yourself, don’t worry if people think they are tacky. If it is good work and a good tattoo that doesn’t say "SLUT" on your back then most people wont think its tacky anyways. Most of the time the only people who think tattoos are tacky are they ones that don’t have any. my bf has a tattoo on his arm of a girl gettin’ it in the butt by this huge dragon…some people would see that as tacky, however it is good work!! I like it lol.

It sounds really sweet but I maybe wouldnt get it there, I know it has sentimental meaning maybe you could put it on your lower back off centre or on your hip, I have a 2 tatoos my lower back one is difficult to cover and sometimes annoys me so think carefully. Sounds like a pretty tattoo tho xx

i woudlnt get it onyour shoulder, that place it sooo out of date, its a 90s thing :] i say you get it on your wrist, or ankle, or top of your foot, or on your right or left side, right above your bikini line..if you know what area im talking about.. it would look cute there.

The more detail you want Tink to have, the bigger she needs to be. But I think 2.5 by 2.5 inches would be big enough. I think your idea is cute.
Is she going to be in her standard color (blond hair, green dress, blue wings, yellow star) or a variation??

You already have one? OK, how do you feel about the one you already have? Do you feel the same way when you think about this one?
I always feel that if people are asking others opinions, then it probably isn’t the right tattoo for them. When it’s ‘right’, you KNOW it’s right, and don’t really care what others may think! lol Good luck in making your descision. =)

That’s a really cute idea. Especially since it means something to you, go for it! It sounds kind of small, but I have really small fingers lol.

Please, get what you want! It’s your body, hun! If it means something to you, then the people who think it’s a bad tattoo be damned. It’s not their choice what you put on your body.
Just keep in mind that the tattoo artists are limited to the amount of detail they can do the smaller the tattoo is. 3 fingers by 3 finger is the smallest I’d go. Anything smaller then that, I think with the needle sizes out there, unless you go to an artist that specifically does small tattoos using a fine needle, then you’d run the risk of loosing detail or things being a little out of porportion.
I hope once you get your tattoo, it’s exactly how you imagined it!

Too much interest in tattoos.

some people will try to cram WAY too much detail into the smallest design possible, things will stand out much more if its larger.
