I have a simple cross tattoo, but I want to change it to something a little more elaborate. can it be done?
can a good tattoo artist take the original cross (colored in brown), and change it’s style and maybe change the color to black?

Of course they can. You could easily add things surrounding the cross to make it look better and stand out more. Just come up with ideas/find some pics of things you want to add to the cross and ask your artist about the best way to lay it out.

Yeah You can change Tattoos colors easily but to remove or later tattoo shape needs it pass through its removal process.
